Shameela Ahmed, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a neurologist at Regional One Health. Dr. Ahmed is board-certified in neurology, sleep medicine, epilepsy medicine, clinical neurophysiology, and clinical neurophysiology with special qualification in epilepsy monitoring.
She earned her medical degree at Dow University of Health Science in Karachi, Pakistan and completed her neurology residency at Loyola University/Hines VA Hospital in Maywood, Illinois. She also completed a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.
Dr. Ahmed brings a wealth of experience to her patients, having provided care for patients with epilepsy, sleep disorders, and general neurological conditions for over two decades in both Shelby and Tipton counties in Tennessee. She served as the medical director of the sleep lab at Baptist Medical Hospital in Covington and established the first accredited sleep testing and management facility in Tipton County.
Dr. Ahmed is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Association of Neuromuscular and Eletrodiagnostic Medicine, and American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
