Saradasri Karri, MD is a medical oncologist and hematologist at Regional One Health. Dr. Karri cares for patients with a variety of hematological and oncological issues and has a special interest in endocrine, neuroendocrine, and central nervous system tumors. She sees patients at Regional One Health as part of a partnership with West Cancer Center.
Dr. Karri earned her medical degree at University of Tennessee Health Science Center and also completed her internal medicine residency and hematology and oncology fellowship at UTHSC.
For Dr. Karri, caring for cancer patients is personal. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer during her medical residency and successfully underwent treatment, and shortly thereafter her mother began undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
“I understand firsthand the apprehension that comes with such a diagnosis,” she said. “At the same time, I have also seen and experienced the joy that results from successful treatment. With this awareness and passion as my driving force, I have dedicated myself to staying on the forefront of cancer treatment advancements through continuing education and research. I strive to make my patients’ journey through cancer treatment as smooth and successful as possible.”
Dr. Karri’s research includes prostate cancer therapy, the use of next-generation sequencing to identify mutations as targets for future therapy, and evaluation of liver biopsies in recipients of liver transplants with confirmed biliary obstruction.
