Rhonda Renee Johnson, DNP, APRN, CNE, c-EFM, CNM, FACNM is a certified nurse-midwife at Regional One Health. She sees patients for prenatal care and women’s wellness at the East Campus, Hollywood Primary Care and Outpatient Center, and provides childbirth care at our Labor & Delivery Center. In her academic role, she is an associate professor in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Nursing.
Dr. Johnson earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Case Western Reserve University and her Master of Science in Nursing in Nurse-Midwifery at the University of Pennsylvania. She has served patients in settings including community birth, prenatal counseling, childbirth education, and midwifery, while also helping prepare a new generation of nurse-midwives as an educator and research supervisor.
Her research has been published in the Journal of Nurse Practitioners, Journal of Professional Nursing, and Online Journal of Rural Nursing and Health Care. She is a member of the American Association of Birth Centers and American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Dr. Johnson’s goal is to help empower her patients to have a positive prenatal, birth, postpartum and gynecological experience, and to prepare students to provide exceptional midwifery care.
