Pralhad Sharma, MD, DABSM, FCCP is a board-certified pulmonary, critical care and sleep physician at Regional One Health.
Dr. Sharma leads a sleep clinic at the East Campus. He sees patients for chronic respiratory problems and critical illness leading to ICU stay at the downtown Main Campus.
Dr. Sharma earned his medical degree at B.P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Nepal. He then moved to the United States and completed his internal medicine residency at University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, followed by his fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. That was followed by another fellowship in sleep medicine at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.
He is board certified in sleep medicine, critical care medicine, pulmonary medicine, and internal medicine.
In his academic role, Dr. Sharma is assistant professor of medicine in UTHSC’s Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. He serves as the Director of the UT Adult Cystic Fibrosis Care and Research Center. He is also an associate program director for a pulmonary and critical care fellowship program.
His research has appeared in the journals Chest, American Journal of Respiratory Critical Care Medicine and Sleep, and he has been a presenter at professional conferences nationally and internationally.
Dr. Sharma is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, Tennessee Medical Association, Memphis Medical Society, American Thoracic Society, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Sharma’s interests include technology, trekking and traveling.
