Maunil N. Bhatt, MD is a vascular surgeon at Regional One Health.
He earned his medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and then completed a general surgery residency at Boston Medical Center and a vascular surgery fellowship at University of California San Francisco.
Dr. Bhatt’s research has been published in the Journal of Surgical Research, The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He has presented his work at conferences across the country.
His research interests include studying and addressing the role and impact of socioeconomic disparities in the outcomes of patients with vascular disease and vascular injuries.
His clinical interests are peripheral arterial disease, critical limb ischemia and limb preservation, aortic pathologies including treatment of aortic dissection and aneurysms, dialysis access creation and treating plethora of vascular emergencies including vascular trauma.
Dr. Bhatt also uses his medical expertise for the greater good. He is a member of the National Trauma Task Force in India, which aims to improve outcomes of road accidents; and volunteered to provide medical care in remote and underserved parts of the United States and India.
Outside of work, he enjoys scuba diving, rock climbing, racquetball and working out, and is the founder of an organization that performs traditional cultural dance to raise money for charity.
