Leonard “Jeff” Harris, Jr., MD, MS is a board certified medical and hematology oncologist with Regional One Health Cancer Care. He specializes in treating blood and bone marrow disorders.
Dr. Harris brings an impressive resume to his patients at Regional One Health. He earned his medical degree at Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta. He completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology at University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident.
He also earned a master’s degree in epidemiology from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and published with the UTHSC Center for Health System Improvement.
Dr. Harris served as faculty in the UTHSC Departments of Preventive Medicine and Emergency Medicine for 10 years, including four years of service as the medical director for the Methodist University Emergency Department, before starting his Hematology-Oncology fellowship at UTHSC.
During his hematology/oncology fellowship he received one year of dedicated training in hematopoietic stem cell transplant and cellular therapies including clinical rotations at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Harris is a member of the Common Sense Oncology initiative.
