This course is offered in partnership with Porter-Leath to provide a comprehensive virtual parenting series. The classes help foster positive parenting skills with nurturing behaviors, promote healthy physical and emotional development, and teach appropriate role and developmental expectations. The curriculum focuses on parenting infants and toddlers.
Topics include: “What is Nurturing Parenting?,” “Changes in ME and YOU,” “Health and Nutrition for Parents and Children,” “Fetal Development and Child Development,” “Empathy and Nurturing Self,” “The Importance of Touch and Alternatives to Spanking,” “Understanding and Handling Stress,” and “Assessing my Parenting Strengths and Program Closure.”
Classes are free and open to the public. For questions, contact Childbirth Services at 901-545-8449. For in-person classes, all CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed. For online classes, the participants will receive the link, meeting ID, and password the night before each online session.
