Susan Edwards, manager of Regional One Health’s East Campus Imaging Center, said the level of radiation in the tests is low and safe. “You’re not getting any more radiation than you do if you spend the day out in the sunshine,” she said.
Recently added is a specialty program which is specifically geared toward persons with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s. It complements the unique Parkinson’s speech therapy they were already providing.
“Physical training isn’t only about the training. It’s counseling, mentorship and coaching all in one,” Robinson said. “It’s easy for young athletes to get overwhelmed. My role is to work with them so they are physically and mentally prepared for training and for competition.”
“Plenty of patients ask, but techs should not give information and should not even react to what they’re seeing on the image,” Edwards said. “They aren’t doctors, and while they do know how to get around your anatomy, they aren’t qualified to diagnose you.”
