Regional One Health is offering a new app that current pharmacy patients can use to order their refills online – anytime and from anywhere!
The app also lets you keep a list of your medications at your fingertips, check expiration dates and refills remaining, and get alerts when your medication is ready to pick up.
Signing up is easy – you just need your name, an Rx number, date of birth, and email address.
Prescription medications help patients manage chronic conditions, recover from illness, and maintain overall good health. With that in mind, Regional One Health is using innovation to make it easier than ever to order prescription refills anytime, from anywhere.
Regional One Health’s Center for Innovation and Outpatient Pharmacy Department spearheaded the creation of a new web-based app that current pharmacy patients can use to request their refills online.
“It’s very user-friendly,” said Alejandra Alvarez, director of the Center for Innovation. “It gives patients on-the-go access to their medications, and it makes it easy to see all the options they have available. It’s another tool to help patients stay organized and on top of their health care.”
Pharmacy Manager Daniel Riddle, DPh said the app lets patients create a profile that puts all of their prescription information in one location that they can access anywhere they have a device and Wi-Fi connection.
“It gives you total control. It allows you to see a list of your prescriptions, how many refills you have left, and when you’re due for a refill,” Riddle said. “We frequently have people call for a refill, but they don’t have the Rx number with them. The app stores that information so you have everything you need to refill your prescriptions.”
He said the app is also helpful when you see your health care provider or if you need emergency medical care, since your provider will likely ask to see a list of your current medications.
The app is easy to access and does not require any downloads.
Simply go to the Regional One Health website at www.regionalonehealth.org and click on the app icon on the homepage. Or, access the app directly at https://regionaloneweb.rxtouch.com/
The first time you use the app, you’ll be asked to create an account by entering your first and last name, birthdate, email address and one of your Rx numbers. You’ll create a username and password and select the Regional One Health pharmacy where you’ll pick up your medications. Then, you’ll receive a PIN to verify your account.
If you want to add family members’ prescriptions, you’ll enter their first and last name, birthdate, email address, and one of their Rx numbers as well.
Once you confirm your account, you can use the app to order refills, see how many refills you have left, check the expiration date of your prescriptions, and view your order history.
You’ll also be prompted to order prescriptions that are due for refill, and you can use the app to search for health care providers and change the Regional One Health pharmacy where you pick up your medications.
When refills ordered through the app are ready for pickup, you’ll receive a phone call or text message. If there are any issues – for example, your medication is out of stock, or a refill needs a provider’s authorization – you’ll get a phone call with more information.
Riddle and Alvarez said patients using the app can also continue to take advantage of the many other options Regional One Health offers to easily obtain their prescription medications:
- MedSync: Synchronize multiple prescriptions to pick up at one time.
- Refill Reminder: When a refill is due, you’ll be contacted to accept or decline.
- Auto-Refills: Your pharmacy will refill your prescriptions when they’re due and send you a text when they’re ready.
- Home Delivery: Have eligible prescriptions delivered to your doorstep.
- Curbside Pickup: Pick up medications from the comfort of your vehicle at our Outpatient Center, East Campus, Primary Care Specialists and South Third pharmacies.
- 90-Day Supply: Get a 90-day supply on qualified prescriptions, so you only need to pick up once every three months.
- RxDetect: When placing an Rx order using our IVR (interactive voice response), you’ll be offered additional refills that are due.
Regional One Health also offers a separate online patient portal for accessing health information test results, appointment dates, and more. You do not need to have a patient portal account to set up a pharmacy refill app account.
“Regional One Health always strives to do everything we can to provide solutions that meet our customers where they are, and the mobile friendly app is another option we’re adding to our suite of services,” Alvarez said. “We’re excited to offer another touchpoint for access, transparency and communication with our patients.”
