If you’re HIV-negative but at high risk for HIV, it is important to protect your health! PrEP is an oral or injectable medication that can help keep you free from HIV.
If taken as prescribed, PrEP is extremely effective at preventing HIV infection, giving you peace of mind and helping you to live a healthy life.
Who should consider PrEP?
At Regional One Health and Regional One Health Outpatient Pharmacy, we understand that effective, accessible preventative care is a key component of keeping patients healthy. Thanks to PrEP, we can help patients who are at elevated risk for HIV avoid infection altogether.
PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) can be taken as a once-a-day pill or as an injection every two months. When taken consistently, it is highly effective at preventing HIV from sex or injection drug use. PrEP does not offer protection against other STDs or infections.
You should talk to your health care provider if you are HIV-negative and think you may be at risk of HIV.

PrEP is prescribed by your health care provider. Call 888-315-8408 today and ask for a PrEP appointment with a Regional One Health PrEP provider at either our Downtown Memphis or East Memphis campus.
Your provider will test you for HIV and other STDs and test to see if your kidneys are working well. If you are prescribed PrEP, you’ll see your provider every three months for repeat HIV tests, prescription refills, and follow-up care. You can also consult your provider if you have side effects while taking PrEP that become severe or don’t go away.
Most insurance programs and state Medicaid plans cover PrEP, and you may also receive copay assistance from drug manufacturers or patient advocacy foundations. If you don’t have insurance, talk to your Regional One Health pharmacist or PrEP provider so we can help you get your medication.
