Every year, TennCare goes through a renewal process, and patients may need to take steps to avoid losing their coverage.

If TennCare staff are not able to auto-renew your coverage, you’ll need to renew online, in person, by phone or by mail.

Regional One Health is here to help. If you have questions about the renewal process, ask your provider or pharmacy team!

Don’t lose your TennCare health coverage! TennCare’s annual renewal process is underway, which means patients’ eligibility will be reviewed in compliance with federal guidelines.

Regular health care is essential for maintaining good health. If you are covered by TennCare, it’s important to know that renewals are underway and you may need to take action to maintain your coverage and continue seeing your providers.

At Regional One Health, our goal is to make sure everyone can access the medical care they need to lead a healthy, active life. Here’s what you need to know about the TennCare renewal process in order to avoid losing coverage, and please ask your Regional One Health provider team or pharmacy team if you have questions or need help.

WHO IS IMPACTED?

For some patients, the renewal process will be seamless. TennCare uses existing data to auto-renew as many members as possible. If available data shows you meet the eligibility criteria, you will automatically be re-enrolled in TennCare.

However, sometimes there isn’t sufficient existing data to re-enroll a patient automatically. These patients will get a renewal packet in the mail or an email to renew online at TennCare Connect. You must complete all of the renewal steps by your renewal date to maintain coverage.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

Take these easy steps to be prepared for the renewal process in case your TennCare cannot be automatically renewed.

Check or create your TennCare Connect account

Visit TennCareConnect.tn.gov to log into your TennCare Connect account to check on your renewal status. If you don’t have an account, create one at TennCareConnect.tn.gov and link the account to your case. You can also opt-in for text and email alerts.

Verify your address with TennCare

If you receive mail from TennCare, don’t assume it is junk!  It may be a notice that you need to take steps to renew your coverage. Read all mail from TennCare and respond according to instructions.

Use TennCare Connect or call 855-259-0701 to verify and update your address. This is especially important if you have moved since your last TennCare renewal. Keep in mind it has been three years since the last renewal process due to the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Find your annual renewal date

Find your renewal date online by logging into your TennCare Connect account and visiting the “Coverage Dashboard.” At the top of the page, click the box titled “Upcoming Renewal” to find your renewal date. If you need help finding your renewal date, call 855-259-0701.

Open and respond to all mail and email from TennCare

If you receive mail from TennCare, don’t mistake it for junk mail. Open all mail from TennCare and respond as directed. Also, check your email regularly, including spam folders. Open any emails from TennCare and follow the instructions they contain.
